DANCER & CHOREOGRAPHER

Specializing in early American vernacular jazz, Charleston, Lindy Hop & historical social dance

I started dancing because I wanted to connect to my dad, who had me at a much older age. Lindy Hop, Jitterbug and the big band sounds of Duke Ellington was a big part of growing up and our family gatherings. When the retro swing dance clubs became popular in the 90s, it allowed me to feel like my dad and I could share a world together even though we were so many generations apart. This dance hobby soon became my profession, a beloved community, and my obsession! Not only did it connect me to people and cultures from history, but I could also now connect to people from around the world through dance events, cultural exchanges and tours. Social Dance gave me a sense of community and belonging. If through dance, you can connect with people who once felt so far away maybe a lot more is possible in this world.
