Adapted from Karel Čapek’s 1930s Czech Sci-fi novel, War with the Newts
It’s 1936 and a new breed of intelligent creature is discovered off the cost of Indonesia. At first these newts are put to work as enslaved labor, but as they begin to multiply, it signals the end of human civilization as we know it. An original work of theater with Balinese shadow puppets, marionettes, original musical score, live music, and a story that sadly grows all the more relevant in time.
